Hi, I'm Mehrdad Shoeibi.
Reliable Machine Learning for Biomedical Data Science
I am a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida. My research focuses on reliable machine learning for biomedical data science, computational biology, and healthcare decision support.
I study how machine learning models behave when supervision is weak or noisy and when data shifts between training and real-world deployment. My current work includes foundation models for gene regulation and single-cell transcriptomics, weakly supervised and robust representation learning, and decision-support methods for high-stakes prediction.
I have published peer-reviewed research across machine learning, optimization, and healthcare AI. My goal is to develop methods that perform reliably in practice, not only on benchmarks.
